Snappy the Clam

I've only recently begun my in-depth entry to the journal/blog scene. You can't swing a dead cat(5) without hitting a posting somewhere about Dave Winer, Frontier, Userland, Weblogs.com and the whole mess.

Me? I was pinging Weblogs.com from my editor script for a few days, then stopped when I realized that it was only "taking" the first ping of the day, and maybe one later in the day if I was lucky.

Time to go read more vitriol... the guy has certainly pissed off a lot of eloquent webfolk.

Yeah, there's a long history of him pissing people off for various reasons, all of them valid. Dig a bit deeper into the subject and you'll start to see why.

I am a very optimistic individual that is willing to take the time to express personal beliefs concerning misunderstanding. I have served active duty in both the Marines and the Army and I would like to say I have formed an emmotional bond with the men and women who wear the uniform which protects our freedoms as Americans. The reason that I will lay down my life for the country that I have known to love is due to the fact I have a common bond and wish to protect the freedoms we have as a people. Can you imagine living in the United States worrying about someone coming into a bus and self detonating and killing innocent women and children. War is hell and such casualties occur without direct intent, and are not easily justified. You all must realize that if we do not stop the reign of terror that infects everyone around the world the ultimate result will be our own self destruction. So I say to all of you whom wish to challenge the only nation that intervenes and supports freedom for all people of every race. Do like I do, live my life in the combat zone and hold your values close to you at the same time, I have earned the right to type my words and run my mouth about the things I hold dear.I also understand if you are of a peaceful nature which is fine, you can use that in a good way. Just remember that when pearl harbor and that day in September when so many children and parents lost there lives it was us a nation that was awakened and the monster within will unleash its fury as will I when the time comes.
